Hi from the Canary Islands!
We are currently living in Tenerife, which is in the Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa. Now in our last newsletter we said we would be settling in San Sebastian, Spain, but things didn't go quite the way we'd planned. We were ready to start our normal process of "settling in", but the weather was that bad it actually turned my umbrella inside out!
Hanalei didn't get into the international school St. Patrick's because they filled her space and they were going to put her in a Basque school, so we decided to take a step back and re-assess the situation. We felt like everything was really forced and not flowing as usual, so it dawned on us that the universe was sending us some powerful messages about mainland Spain!
We talked to our friends to discuss some other possible options, and then the island of Tenerife came up in conversation! The private international school in Tenerife had a spot for Hanalei, so we couldn't be more happy. The island is the largest of the Canaries and is known as the "Island of Eternal Spring" because it has a consistent year-round climate with temperatures averaging 20-22 degrees. Perfect for the Unstoppable Family! We have been in need of the beach, some sun and some good surf!
This is why we love FREEDOM! We would never just be able to get up and go if it wasn't for our decision to work for ourselves online! After 3 weeks of the slowest Wi-Fi EVER, we have now finally found decent Internet and a place to live for the next few months.
